The Wellcome Trust HRB Clinical Research Facility, St. James’s Hospital provides a dedicated space for clinical research and is staffed with highly skilled research nurses and health care professionals. The CRF offers an array of services depending on research requirements. Services include research nursing support, study coordination, regulatory affairs advice, investigational medicinal product management and laboratory resources. The CRF can assist with negotiation of contracts on behalf of the Principal Investigator, advise with costings of studies for grants or health awards and provide study set up support. Essentially the CRF can provide a one stop shop from initial study feasibility to study close out. The CRF are keen to collaborate and support researchers. The CRF are here to provide the necessary skills required for successful completion of research projects. Researchers requesting access to the CRF for clinical trials or investigator led studies should contact the CRF early in the process of planning a study so that they can advise on its resource requirements and feasibility.
